Ah, what a commute to work this morning. Apparently, the train in front of us caught on fire and there were major delays on the rails. *bleeping septa* Oh well. Due to this situation, the train I was currently on announced that it will stop at Fern Rock station. Hearing this, I forced myself awake from a state of dumbfounded stupor and watched the people get out of the train. We were at Glenside station. I think to myself, Where are they going? What should I do? Do I want to get up and wait out in the cold? Or should I just ride all the way to Fern Rock and wait there instead? Fern Rock isnt a very pleasing train station, to say the least. Begrudgingly, I get off the train like 90% of the other passengers. As I stepped out, I was welcomed by the bitter-cold gust of wind accompanied by a whiff of cigarette smoke. *damn* What else is left to do but smoke myself? So I have a cigarette, and wonder if I really will be able to quit soon. *damn* A gloomy day, the sun was hidden behind the clouds and the light it shed was muted, muffled, meek. I wasnt alone, there were handful, no fistful, or perhaps even a barrel-full of people up and about, some seemed angry, some seemed annoyed, some seemed indifferent, and some just seemed tired. Well, most of them seemed tired. After a 7 minute wait, the R5 Doylestown, the train that was behind my former train, arrived. Fortunately, I got in the train fairly early, and I managed to find a seat in this already-packed train. Many people had to stand around looking sheepish. Lucky me, I suppose. Another small predicament - the R5 train doesnt stop at University City train station. *damn* So I debated on my course of actions. Choice number 1, get off at 30th Street Station, get onto a train that stops at University City Station, get off at Univ. Station, then walk to work. Choice number 2, get off at 30th Street Station, and just walk to work from there. Choice number 3, get off at 30th Street Station, and just cab it to work.
At first I had decided on choice number 1, I looked at the arriving trains and found that it was late. It was cold, I was feeling lazy, I wanted to get to work. So I jumped on choice number 3. And here I am at work, planning where to go for lunch. I believe we are going to an Indian restaurant. I am hungry. Life is funny.
